Always an adventure

<p dir=ltr>I've always know emergency rooms could be interesting,&nbsp; l but up until today I haven't seen or heard much.&nbsp;&nbsp; While waiting on Toms blood sugar to come down I've heard many things. Some sad, some pitiful, and some over dramatic.&nbsp; From a sick child crying because he's sick and scared, to a pregnant woman being told she could have a blood clot and the test for it has a slight risk to the baby.&nbsp; The curtain is closed around us so I'm left with my imagination.&nbsp; So far, the most dramatic person has been a grown man yelling 'it hurts so bad' and then what sounded like crocodile tears because he wasn't getting his way.&nbsp; I dont know how the men and women who work in the er do it, but I know we would be lost without them.&nbsp; They're there when you have a problem, no matter the size.&nbsp; The ones we have met today have always had a smile on their face and have been there when we have needed them.

I'm at a loss for words

I hate feeling like I'm waiting for the bottom to fall out from under me. My family is my world, my life, my reason for being and having my husband three hours away in the hospital is hard. It's harder that we're having to wait to find out more about the cancer. We've been married for 13 years and have a lifetime to go.

Did you hear?

The Republicans are analyzing why Romney lost the election.  So far they have said that Obama got the black and hispanic vote. The newest one is that white people stayed home.  They said that as well as, people die and the country is not getting any whiter.  I don't know if I should be offended by that or not.  Either way, ABC news makes it seem like they're looking for any excuse possible.

I will never understand..

I will never understand why someone would walk away from their family, grandchildren included, for someone young enough to be their child who must have daddy issues.

I've seen white nail polish everywhere so I thought I'd try it. Just wish my camera would have cooperated better.

Is it right?

The current controversy with a certain fast food chain and marriage has me questioning what some people consider right. Whether you support gay marriage or not is where I question it, but in how some people react to it. I know what the bible says, my grandfather was a preacher. He made sure we learned what the bible says.
The media and the blogs have made sure everyone knows what was said and how people are reacting to it. While I'm not going to give my opinion on the matter I will say this.  Luke 6:31 'And as you wish that others would do to you, do so unto them.'  It is one thing to express how you feel, but when you start to attack someone for what they support, it can make you no better than  the one that you are attacking. The bible defines marriage, but in the end it is the Lord in Heaven that we have to answer to.
So you tell me, is it right when one goes after another for what they believe in?

Just What I Needed

Right now, there's a lot going on and finding this when I loaded my Google profile was just what I needed.  If anyone needs a reminder of what the Lord can do when you're sick or when you're living with/dealing with someone sick:

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Call me ignorant...

I've seen all of the mud slinging, what I will do if, what they didn't do, campaign ads. I'll admit it has been a long time since I had to know how the government works for a class, but don't alot of these promises and he/she didn't do what they said they would do require the house and senate to approve? I know I've watched the news and I have heard how things that were sent for approval were not getting it unless it was rewritten in a way that made everyone happy. How is an elected official suppose to keep promises if they're constantly having to do things in a way that makes everyone happy and how is the one saying they will do things differently going to do it when they have to go through the same channels?

So yeah I might be ignorant, but these promises of how things will be done shouldn't be made if they can't guarantee they will have the support of the ones deciding whether or not they will be able to keep the promise.

I'm not ready...

Since last August, I have gotten use to having the children in school. A house with just fish and two, at times three, dogs from 8-3 is a relatively quiet house. Next month, the children will be home until August, summer vacation. Dont get me wrong, I love my children. But for the next few months I am sure to have more, "mommy, where are you"s and the good old "I'm bored." Going to the bathroom with just a dog checking up on me will be a thing of the past too, Cassandra has to make sure she knows where I am.

So I will enjoy what little quiet time I have with just my dogs and fish.  I'm sure before the end of June I'll start wishing they were back in school.

Dragonfly? #8

I enjoy watching My Fair Wedding. Makes me wonder where David Tutera and WE tv were when I got married.  Any who, the summary of the episode said "dragonfly wedding," I'm guessing this is suppose to be a dragonfly?

What started as one thing, turned into something else.

Meet Belle, she was my parents/brothers chihuahua.  I say was because this past Saturday, 1/21/2012, she passed away in my daddy's arms.  She was only a few years old, but unfortunately she had Addison's Disease and by the time they found out, it was too late.  The emergency vet was able to give her some fluids and send her home with instructions to try to reduce her potassium levels and increase her glucose.  The only thing that seemed to do was give them the rest of the day to spend with her.  The vet recommended that they euthanize her, but my dad said no.  Did she suffer? There is no way to tell.  She was where she wanted to be, doing one of the few things she loved doing, sitting in bed with him.  It's hard to watch something you love go through that, and it's even harder to watch them go to sleep and never wake up.

Addison's disease is hard to diagnose since the symptoms can be mistaken for other common illnesses.  The symptoms can also come and go over a period of a few months, to years.  Normally, the disease is not caught until the dog is in crisis.  For Belle, she was already in renal failure.  The disease can be treated if caught early enough.  If your dog has been having bouts of vomiting and diarrhea, or even if you think your dog seems off, talk to your vet about your concerns.

To find out more about the disease, you can visit:

I'm kinda obsessed with my fish today

Trying to get a fish to stop long enough for a picture is almost as hard as getting a hyper child to stop.

Oh yeah, day 5. So far so good.

Hello Mr. green terror!

Day 3, bye bye outdoor Christmas lights!

Time to put the Christmas lights up until next Christmas.  It's cold outside so I brought everything in to pack up.  Some might say thats pitiful, I say it was easier to do it without trying to keep warm outside.

Day 2!

I figure I'll keep the dog theme going today.  Bear loves it when his belly gets scratched, what dog doesn't.  Whenever he is on his back he turns into the smiling dog.  The trick is to catch him before he moves.

A picture a day, maybe..

Couldn't get Cassandra to stand still long enough to get a picture of her playing with the kinect so I shall call this my lazy dogs post.
