Pumpkin Coffee

I love it when the weather changes and the seasonal coffee flavors come out.  I especially love the pumpkin flavor in my coffee.  What I don't love is the price to buy a large coffee, but now I have figured out how to make it at home without having to go through 5 different steps.

Maxwell House International has a seasonal flavor called Pumpkin Spice.  Add a scoop of that to your coffee and you have pumpkin flavored coffee that tastes just as good as the ones you get at the coffee shop.  You might spend $4 or $5 for a tin, but that tin will last you through a dozen or more servings of your coffee.  I use Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla along with my creamer to make my own just the way I like it. :)

Dear big name diet companies,

I think it is wonderful that certain people have lost so much weight by following your programs.  At one point I was even able to do it, but things changed and I just didn't afford to do it anymore.  I see the commercials on tv, even those that promise x amount of savings.   My question to you is, how is someone who wants to loose weight but having troubles making ends meet suppose to afford the fees? The cost of food, even if it's not included in the plan, is a cost that can be hard to afford. Yes, there are "specials," but even with a discount it's almost impossible for someone that is struggling to make the payments.

I'd love to loose the weight and be able to keep it off. This yo-yo game that I seem to be playing has gotten old and my body as well as my self esteem are suffering because of it.

How does one afford to loose weight the right way?

So I'm..

Trying to get back into blogging again.  I just finished my BS at ECU and hopefully I will have some more time to actually keep up with it.  There are so many things I enjoy and I am able to do most if not all of them with couponing.

Something New

I'd like to attempt to try new recipes and then post about them. Hopefully I'll get my butt in gear and start posting. I've already tried some and can't wait to post them!

It's been over a year..

Wow, it's been a little over a year since I've done anything to my blog... A lot can happen in a year, and for my family, a lot has happened.

The good news?  He survived.  The bad news?  He is no longer the same man that helped to raise me.  I understand that cancer can change a person and their outlook on life, but to change their beliefs?  Give me a break.  He's not the first person I've seen go through cancer and sadly I doubt he's going to be the last.  We, my brother and sister and myself, were always told growing up that he wasn't like our father, that he wouldn't hurt our mom.  When you hear time and time again how someone will never do to their spouse what was done to them in their first marriage, and then they turn around and do it, you tend to loose faith in a person, and respect.  Okay so you say that you're not trying to divorce her and leave the family, but you just up and leave one day, make sure you take everything that means anything to you, and expect us to believe that it's because you're trying to become the man you were before the cancer?  Right and I have a bunch of flowering money trees sitting on a piece of swamp land just waiting to be harvested.  Cancer has become the "go to" excuse for everything.  However, the last scan came back clean, does this mean that everyone who has survived cancer can blame it on all of their troubles?  I realize my brother is a 28 year old bum who would rather sit on his ass and watch TV all day than do anything productive, but when does that make it okay to say that you had to get out of the house before you "committed a criminal act"?  I'm sorry, but grow up.  If life was easy we'd have no more poverty, homelessness, drug dealers, murderers, psychopaths, etc., but it's not and all we can do is take one day at a time and learn to live with what the good Lord gave us.

And yes, I am referring to the man that I have called daddy for the last 17+ years of my life.
